Quick and easy, these healthy snickers bites are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! If you love snickers bars but are trying to eat healthier, this is the dessert recipe for you. I made my healthy snickers bites recipe with good for you ingredients like almond flour, oats, cashew butter, and extra dark chocolate. Whip these treats up in under 1 hour!
In a small mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the nougat base. If you do not have oat flour, simply add whole rolled oats to a blender or food processor and blend on high speed until the oats are finely pureed then add to your mixing bowl.
1 ¼ cup oat flour, ¼ cup almond flour, ⅓ cup pure maple syrup, ½ teaspoon sea salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix the ingredients well to combine and then divide evenly between 24 mini cupcake tins, or any small candy mold. Make sure to line them with cupcake paper.Using wet hands so the batter doesn't stick to your fingers, press the nougat base into the bottom of the cupcake paper.
¾ cup peanut butter or cashew butter, ¼ cup maple syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon sea salt
In another small mixing bowl, combine the ingredients for the caramel.Divide the caramel on top of the nougat base. Place in the freezer to firm up and chill while you melt the chocolate.
In a glass dish, melt the chocolate in the microwave. Stir every 30 seconds to prevent the chocolate from burning.Divide the chocolate evenly on top of the caramel.Place in the freezer to set the chocolate, and enjoy!
1 cup dark chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon coconut oil
These healthy snickers bites store well in the freezer for up to 3 months in an airtight bag or container.
