Authentic Jordanian Heavy Tea (Bedouin Tea)

Jordanian Tea is a super easy recipe that you need to know if you love to make Arabic food at home! Jordanians have a beautiful culture and pride themselves on hospitality, and after every big meal, delicious black tea is served to guests. You can easily make Jordanian Bedouin tea at home with black tea, sugar, and either cardamom pods or fresh mint leaves.

  • Arabic Tea Cups

Ingredients
  

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 10 whole cardamom pods or handful fresh mint leaves
  • 4 cups boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Heat 4 cups of water to a boil.
    While the water is heating, add 4 tea bags, 1 cup of sugar, and 10 cardamom pods (or mint leaves) to a tea pot.

  • Pour the boiling water into the tea pot and cover with the lid.
    Let your tea steep about 10-15 minutes on the stove. You can pour out a cup to see how dark it has gotten. If it does not look dark enough, continue to steep it until it is a very rich deep tea color.

  • Once your Jordanian tea is dark enough, turn on the burner and bring your tea to a boil.
    Serve immediately as Arabic tea is served piping hot!
