Healthy Homemade Coffee Caramel Sauce

Homemade Iced Caramel Macchiato

  • 2 tablespoon date caramel or store bought caramel sauce + dash vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 cup milk of choice I used flax milk
  • 2 shots fresh brewed strong espresso

Healthy Homemade Coffee Caramel Sauce

  • Soak pitted dates in hot water for 1 hour. Drain the hot water from the dates.

  • Add the dates to a blender along with fat coconut milk, pure vanilla extract, and a dash of sea salt.
    Blend on high, scraping down the sides as needed to get the tiny bits of dates, until you have a smooth creamy caramel texture with no pieces of dates in it.
    Transfer to an airtight glass jar, and store in the fridge for up to a week! Use in all your coffee and dessert recipes where the recipe calls for caramel!

Homemade Iced Caramel Macchiato

  • Add 2 tablespoons of homemade date caramel to the bottom of a tall glass. Or, store bought caramel sauce. For extra vanilla flavor add ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract too.
