Healthy cookies and cream milkshake made with just 3 ingredients.

This post is sponsored by Tosh Snacks!

Last week I was craving a milkshake so I went out and got a classic oreo milkshake. After about an hour I was left super bloated. While it was so delicious, my body can't tolerate dairy and a lot of sugar very well so I set out to recreate a healthier version of the delicious milkshake.

Ingredients in my Healthy Cookies and Cream Milkshake

This cookies and cream milkshake recipe is made with just 3 ingredients!

Frozen bananas. Make sure you are freezing the banana after the skin turns almost black. The darker the banana peel, the riper it is, and the sweeter it will be.

Milk of choice. I used vanilla soy milk in this recipe. You can use any milk you want. If you are using non flavored milk, make sure to add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to get a vanilla flavor.

Chocolate sandwich cookies. Instead of oreos, I used Tosh Snacks chocolate sandwich cookies which are made without artificial colors or flavors, no high fructose corn syrup, and are non GMO!

    Can milkshakes be healthy?

Milkshakes can totally be made healthy! Instead of ice cream or ice cream powder that is usually used in fast-food recipes, I used 2 frozen bananas. I like making my milkshakes with frozen bananas because they are very sweet and provide a subtle flavor that you can cover up with pretty much anything.

Is oreo shake good for health?

Classic oreo milkshakes are not good for health. However, if you're really craving one, go for it! No one food or meal is going to make or break your health. But, if you crave them regularly, my healthy milkshake recipe here is a great alternative!

How to make my Healthy Cookies and Cream Milkshake

In a blender, add ½ cup milk of choice. I used vanilla soy milk because it gave the milkshake a very vanilla flavor. If you are using regular milk or unflavored milk, simply add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to get that vanilla ice cream flavor! Add 2 frozen bananas.

Turn your blender on low and let it work its magic. Turn up the blender speed and keep blending your bananas and milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Finally, add 2-4 chocolate sandwich cookies and blend again until the cookies look like small crumbs. You don't want to under blend the cookies because you don't want to end up with a big cookie chunk clogging up your straw!

Pour into a tall glass and enjoy immediately!

Share this healthy cookies and cream milkshake with someone, or double the recipe to make 2 big milkshakes.

How to make a Healthy Cookies and Cream Milkshake smoothie bowl instead

If you like cookies and cream ice cream, you might like a cookies and cream smoothie bowl instead!

To make a smoothie bowl instead of a milkshake, all you have to do is use less milk! Follow the exact same instructions as above, except use ⅛ cup of milk instead of ½ cup. 🙂

Serve your smoothie bowl topped with extra chocolate sandwich cookies broken into chunks!
