Healthy Chocolate Almond Magnum Bars! If you love magnum bars, but not all the sugar, this is the healthy dessert recipe for you! Made with healthy ingredients like cashews, coconut milk, almond butter, and more.

This healthy magnum recipe makes 12 regular sized magnums or 20 mini magnum bars.

    HEALTHY MAGNUM BAR INGREDIENTS

    • 1 ½ cup raw cashews (soaked overnight to soften)
    • 2 cups full fat coconut milk
    • ½ cup pitted dates (10 noir or 6 medjool)
    • ¼ cup almond butter
    • 300g dark chocolate
    • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
    • Chopped almonds or other nut for topping

    HOW HEALTHY ARE MAGNUMS?

Magnum ice cream bars are considered indulgent treats due to their higher calorie, saturated fat, and sugar content. While they might not be classified as a health food, they can be enjoyed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.

It's important to be mindful of portion sizes and to consider them an occasional treat rather than a regular dietary choice. If you're looking for a healthier option, you might explore recipes for homemade versions using wholesome ingredients.

SKIN HEALTHY BENEFITS OF MY HEALTHY MAGNUMS!

    • Raw Cashews: Provide healthy fats and antioxidants for skin elasticity.
    • Pitted Dates: Offer natural sweetness and contain vitamins for skin vitality.
    • Almond Butter: Rich in vitamin E, supporting skin health and hydration.
    • Coconut Milk: Provides medium-chain fatty acids that nourish skin from within.
    • Dark Chocolate: Contains flavonoids for skin protection against UV damage.
    • Coconut Oil: Supplies moisturizing properties for smooth and supple skin.
    • Chopped Almonds: Offer additional vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids for skin health.

HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY MAGNUM BARS AT HOME

STEP 1- SOAK RAW CASHEWS OVERNIGHT

In a glass dish, add 1 ½ cups raw cashews. Cover completely with water. Add a lid and place in your fridge to soak overnight.

Soaking cashews helps to soften the cashew and blend into a creamy ice cream like texture.

STEP 2- MAKE THE MAGNUM BAR FILLING

The next day, drain the water from your 1 ½ cups cashews. Add them to a blender or food processor along with your other ingredients:

    • 2 cups full fat coconut milk
    • ½ cup pitted dates (10 noir or 6 medjool )
    • ¼ cup almond butter

Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Pour the filling into 12 regular sized popsicle molds or 20 mini molds. The amount of homemade magnum ice cream bars you get may vary based on the popsicle molds you have.

    STEP 3- FREEZE MAGNUMS

Place your popsicle molds in the freezer. Make sure to freeze them until they are frozen solid. This will take about 4-8 hours.

STEP 4- DIP IN MELTED DARK CHOCOLATE

    Finally, the dark chocolate shell!

In a small microwave safe bowl add:

    • 300g dark chocolate
    • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Stir every 30 seconds until the chocolate is completely melted to prevent burning. This will only take about 60-90 seconds.

Pop the frozen magnum bars out of their molds and dip in the melted dark chocolate. Sprinkle with chopped almonds or any other kind of nut that you like.

Place on a parchment paper lined plate and back in the freezer to set the chocolate.

HOW TO STORE HOMEMADE MAGNUM BARS

Once the chocolate is set, I like to freezer my magnum bars in freezer bags for a quick and easy healthy treat any time!

They last in the freezer about 3 months if stored in an air tight bag.

    FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about my healthy magnum bars recipe.

What if I didn't soak my cashews overnight?

If you didn't soak your cashews overnight, you can soak them in boiling water for about 30 minutes. Raw cashews need to be soaked for these magnum bars to get a creamy ice cream like texture.

    Can I use roasted cashews?

No, roasted cashews will not give you the same buttery smooth texture that raw cashews will.

How much sugar is in a magnum bar?

The amount of sugar in a Magnum ice cream bar can vary depending on the flavor and size of the bar. On average, a standard Magnum ice cream bar contains around 18 to 22 grams of sugar. My healthy magnums contain 0 grams added sugar!
