    • and No Mayo!

Ever wonder what is in your salad dressing? Some of the ones you buy at the store have so much extra junk in them! So I've started making my own dressings, and its so much easier than I thought! All you really need for this caesar salad dressing is a blender or food processor.

DOES ALL CAESAR SALAD DRESSING HAVE RAW EGG?

No! Not all caesar salad dressing is even made with egg. If you can't eat eggs, just check the ingredient label because some are made with other ingredients for creaminess.

WHAT CAN I SUBSTITUTE FOR ANCHOVY PASTE IN CAESAR DRESSING?

The main thing that anchovies do to caesar dressing is add a "saltiness." To get the same texture and taste that anchovies add, use Worcestershire sauce, capers, or kalamata olives. Personally, capers are my favorite anchovy substitute.

WHAT'S IN THE ORIGINAL CAESAR SALAD DRESSING RECIPE?

Anchovies in oil (or anchovy paste), egg yolk, fresh garlic cloves, lemon juice, mustard, olive oil, and parmesan cheese.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST HEALTHY HOMEMADE CAESAR SALAD DRESSING

USE FULL FAT GREEK YOGURT. Full fat yogurt will give you the best creamy texture.

USE FRESH LEMON. Fresh lemon has a much more tangy flavor than bottled lemon juice.

BLEND TILL SMOOTH AND CREAMY. Or, if you like a chunkier dressing, pulse until you get the texture that you like. Fresh shaved parmesan and capers will give you that chunky caesar dressing texture.

    FAQ'S

    DOES CAESAR SALAD NEED ANCHOVIES?

No! In fact, there is only one local restaurant here that actually serves their caesar salad with anchovies!

HOW DO YOU THICKEN CAESAR SALAD DRESSING?

If you want a thicker dressing, add more Greek yogurt and/ or more capers. You can also add in fresh parmesan cheese for a thick "chunkier" caesar dressing texture.

CAN I MAKE THIS HOMEMADE CAESAR DRESSING WITH ANCHOVIES?

Yes! If you like anchovies, replace the Worcestershire sauce with anchovy paste.

HOW CAN I MAKE CAESAR SALAD DRESSING WITHOUT MUSTARD?

Just leave it out! If you don't like the flavor of mustard, this recipe tastes just as good without it.

So, I've been trying to be as environmentally conscious as possible. Instead of throwing my lemon peels away I decided to use them in hot water!

Caesar Salad Dressing No Egg No Anchovies

My homemade caesar salad dressing is super easy to make! All you need is a standing blender or food processor to puree the ingredients together. And even if you don't have that, you could finely mince the garlic cloves and make it that way too. My Caesar Salad Dressing is made with NO eggs and NO anchovies.
