Brown Sugar Soy Milk Shaken Espresso. By now you've probably tried or at least heard of the Starbucks brown sugar oat milk espresso. Since I love most of my lattes with soy milk, I wanted to recreate the delicious shaken espresso drink with soy milk instead of oat!

For me there is nothing better than recreating popular espresso drinks right at home! Ever since we got our espresso maker, we have been making lattes, macchiato's, and beautiful layered drinks galore!

Next up is my take on the Starbucks brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso, but with soy milk instead of oat milk!

WHAT'S IN A ICED BROWN SUGAR SOY MILK SHAKEN ESPRESSO?

My starbucks copycat drink made with soy milk is made with a few simple ingredients you probably already have at home! All you need is ice, soy milk, espresso, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.

WHAT'S IN THE STARBUCKS ICED BROWN SUGAR OATMILK SHAKEN ESPRESSO?

Here is the Starbucks ingredients list vs my homemade version with a different kind of milk.

    Starbucks ingredients:

Ice, Oatmilk, Brewed Espresso, Brown Sugar Syrup [Invert Sugar, Brown Sugar, Water, Natural Flavor, Salt, Preservative Potassium Sorbate], Cinnamon

    Homemade ingredients:

Ice, organic Soy milk, Brewed Espresso, Brown Sugar Syrup [organic brown sugar, pure vanilla extract, cinnamon]

I also want to note that I don't buy oatmilk because it has a preservative in it called dipotassium phosphate. Dipotassium phosphate is generally recognized as safe, however some research suggests it can impact kidney function. My philosophy about nutrition is to not eat preservatives.

HOW MANY SHOTS OF ESPRESSO ARE IN A SHAKEN ESPRESSO?

The standard shaken espresso, which is a grande size has 2 shots of espresso. If you want to make it stronger, you can easily double that right at home.

    FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about the brown sugar shaken espresso drink.

Is the brown sugar shaken espresso good?

I love soy milk in my espresso drinks, it is rich creamy and has a nice vanilla flavor! Soy milk is definitely more creamy that oat milk.

Can you tell me the brown sugar soy milk shaken espresso calories?

My drink has 131 calories and 9 grams of added sugars.

What is the brown sugar soy milk shaken espresso caffeine content?

2 shots of espresso have about 128 milligrams of caffeine.

How do I make an iced brown sugar soy milk espresso with no sugar?

To make it with no sugar, simply leave the sugar out. Shake the espresso with ice, vanilla and cinnamon. Then, pour the flavored espresso into your glass with milk. You can also use a more natural sweetener like raw manuka honey or pure maple syrup.

HOW TO MAKE AN ICED BROWN SUGAR SHAKEN ESPRESSO WITH SOY MILK AT HOME

The brown sugar soy milk shaken espresso is so easy to make! Most recipes are pretty heavy on the brown sugar, so I started with a reduced sugar "syrup." I also did not cook the syrup over the stove and found that it was just as delicious.

You can easily adjust this recipe to make it sweeter, naturally sweetened, or even sugar free. Plus, if you want to use any other kind of milk like almond milk, cashew milk, dairy milk it is just as good!

How to make the lightened up Starbucks brown sugar "syrup":

In a small mason jar or cocktail shaker, add a couple of ice cubes, 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, and 2 shots of espresso.

Cover and shake well till the sugar is dissolved.

How to make the Starbucks copycat brown sugar soy milk shaken espresso:

In a medium sized glass, pour the iced sweetened espresso. Add more ice cubes to fill about half way. Fill to the top with soy milk.

    Stir and enjoy!

Iced Brown Sugar Soy Milk Shaken Espresso

My iced brown sugar soy milk shaken espresso is a twist on Starbucks popular oatmilk shaken espresso drink! I used soy milk in place of oat milk and reduced the sugar. I also used high quality vanilla extract, cinnamon, and dark roast coffee beans for a rich bold flavored shaken espresso with much less sugar!
