Spanish Iced Latte recipe. My iced Spanish latte is so easy to make and takes only 3 simple ingredients.
When we were in Dubai last month, we found this cute restaurant in our hotel for breakfast. They had a delicious coffee menu and the Spanish latte caught my eye. I've never heard of or even had a Spanish latte before so I had to give it a try. And oh my gosh it was good!
When we got home, I went back to the picture I took of the Iced Spanish Latte in Dubai and went on a mission to make it exactly like the one I had. Little did I know it was so easy to make that it only took me 3 tries to get it perfect.
My easy Spanish iced latte recipe with condensed milk is so simple to make and has to make it into your homemade coffee rotation.

WHAT IS AN ICED SPANISH LATTE?
When I first saw Spanish latte on the menu in Dubai, I thought to myself.. maybe it has some Spanish spices inside? Feeling adventurous and always on the hunt for new recipes to bring back home I gave it a try.
One sip and I was in love. A iced Spanish latte is simply an iced coffee drink that's made with milk (any kind, I ordered soy milk), condensed milk, and fresh espresso. These three ingredients are layered for a beautiful and delicious presentation over ice.
You can also make a Spanish latte hot and without the ice if you prefer warm beverages. It's a great coffee drink to make any time of the year.
WHAT IS A SPANISH LATTE MADE OF?
Unlike a traditional latte, that is typically made with espresso and milk, a Spanish latte is made with espresso, milk, and sweetened condensed milk. Simple ingredients that most of us have at home already is my kind of coffee recipe!
Iced Spanish Latte Ingredients:
- ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup scalded milk of choice
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2 shots fresh brewed espresso
IS A SPANISH LATTE SWEET OR BITTER?
Because of the sweetened condensed milk, the Spanish Latte is sweet, so I recommend making it strong and using two shots of espresso. If you don't like a strong coffee flavor, you can make it with just one shot of espresso instead of two.
You can make my easy Spanish latte recipe iced or hot, both ways are super delicious. I prefer the iced Spanish latte, and really I prefer all of my coffee iced.. even in the winter. If you're a hot coffee drinker, just skip the ice and you'll have a delicious hot Spanish latte.
HOW TO MAKE A SPANISH LATTE AT HOME
My iced Spanish latte with milk and sweetened condensed milk is so easy to make at home! I will say I have made it with and without the scalded milk and scalding it is a must. Scalding your milk will give you the best Spanish iced latte recipe because the warm milk helps to melt the condensed milk and makes each sip perfectly sweet.
STEP 1: SCALD MILK
Start my easy Spanish latte recipe by grabbing a small sauce pan. In the sauce pan add 1 cup of milk and scald it over medium heat.
Grab a glass and add ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk to the bottom. Pour your 1 cup of scalded milk over the sweetened condensed milk. Mix the condensed milk into the scalded milk.
Set this aside while you prepare your fresh espresso.
STEP 2: BREW FRESH ESPRESSO
In your espresso maker, brew 2 shots of espresso. I use dark roast beans for a very strong coffee flavor.
If you don't have an espresso maker, you can substitute ¼ cup of strong brewed coffee.
STEP 3: POUR AND ENJOY!
Add ice to fill your glass. Top with the 2 shots of espresso and enjoy! A perfect iced Spanish latte recipe right from home.
HOW TO MAKE A HOT SPANISH LATTE
If you want to make a hot Spanish latte recipe instead of an iced one, simply add the condensed milk to a mug instead of a glass.
Next, stir in the scalded milk. Top with 2 shots of espresso and enjoy a hot homemade Spanish latte.
HOW TO MAKE A ICED SPANISH LATTE AT HOME WITHOUT A MACHINE?
If you don't have a coffee machine, not to worry! You can still make a delicious Spanish iced latte by using about ¼-1/2 cup (depending on how strong you like the coffee flavor) store bought cold brew coffee. Pour the coffee directly on top of the milk, just like the espresso in my recipe.
WONDERING ABOUT NUTRITION?
Spanish iced latte calories- 1 latte has about 345 calories if you're using the full amount of sweetened condensed milk. Less condensed milk, less calories.
