This pineapple banana smoothie bowl is so creamy and delicious! It will take your right away to a tropical island.. but with all the health benefits! Hehe. Loaded with goodies like frozen bananas, pineapple, collagen, and blue spirulina powder.
BLUE PINEAPPLE BANANA SMOOTHIE BOWL INGREDIENTS
- Frozen bananas
- Frozen pineapple chunks
- Flax milk
- Blue spirulina
- Collagen (optional for more protein in your smoothie bowl)
- Homemade healthy seashells
Did you know spirulina is extremely nutrient dense?? It is loaded with micro nutrients including B-vitamins, iron, and even chlorophyll! Research has linked it to so many health benefits, even reducing cancer risk! And what is even better?
Also, blue spirulina, unlike green spirulina has a way better flavor! Say good bye to a strong fishy smell. And say hello to a smoothie as blue as the ocean!
TIPS TO MAKE THE BEST BLUE PINEAPPLE BANANA SMOOTHIE BOWL
USE FROZEN PINEAPPLE AND BANANA. For the thickest smoothie bowl texture, use only frozen fruit!
USE β CUP MILK PER 1 CUP OF FROZEN FRUIT. Don't be tempted to add more milk, it will only water down your smoothie bowl and you will have a blue smoothie instead!
MAKE SEASHELLS AHEAD OF TIME! See my instructions below on how to make those cute seashells for the top of your smoothie bowl.

HOW TO MAKE A SEASHELL SMOOTHIE BOWL
If you are making the no chocolate seashells for your smoothie bowl, make sure to make them the day ahead so they have time to set in the freezer. Read below on how to make healthy edible seashells for your smoothie bowl!
Step 1: make the pineapple banana smoothie bowl
Start by putting the frozen banana, frozen pineapple, collagen, and blue spirulina in the blender.
Turn the blender on and process it.
Keep pushing frozen fruit down towards the blades until there is no frozen fruit left. If you don't have a blender tamper, simply turn off your blender a few times and scrape frozen fruit down.
Once your smoothie is thick and creamy like the texture of ice cream, it is ready to eat! Scoop your smoothie into a bowl and add toppings.
Step 2: Add your seashell smoothie bowl toppings
In this bowl, I used edible sea shells, coconut flakes, and golden flax seeds.
HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY EDIBLE SEASHELLS WITHOUT CHOCOLATE!!
I made the shells from combining kefir and peanut butter. I put the mixture into a shell mold overnight.
STEP 1: Mix kefir and peanut butter
In a small bowl add about ΒΌ cup plain kefir. Add 1-2 teaspoons peanut butter or almond butter.
The more nut butter you add, the darker tan your seashells will be!
Whisk together with a fork till you get the texture that you like. Don't whisk as long if you want a more "marbled" effect on your shells.
STEP 2: Add to seashell molds
Carefully pour the kefir mixture between the seashell molds.
Wipe any excess off.
STEP 3: Freeze
Freeze seashells overnight and then carefully remove from the molds to top your smoothie bowl!
Hope you enjoy this fun tropical blue smoothie bowl as much as I did!
