IS A CREAMSICLE SMOOTHIE HEALTHY?
My orange creamsicle smoothie with yogurt, oranges, and pineapple is super healthy for you and makes an excellent dessert!
- Oranges are high in fiber and vitamin C! Vitamin C is needed to absorb iron in your body. It is also needed to effectively use collagen-- so that means it is great for your skin health!
- Pineapple is ultra high in antioxidants which help keep you healthy and your skin and nails looking great!
- Greek Yogurt is high in protein and probiotics to feed your good gut bugs. And bonus, full fat Greek yogurt is way better for ladies than low fat Greek! 🙂
If you're eating a creamsicle breakfast smoothie bowl- make sure to add some extra protein toppings to make it a complete meal like nuts, seeds, nut butter, or blend in your favorite orange or vanilla protein powder.
TIPS TO MAKE THE BEST EVER THICK ORANGE CREAMSICLE SMOOTHIE BOWL
PEEL AND FREEZE ORANGE SLICES FLAT ON PARCHMENT PAPER. Freeze your orange slices on parchment paper flat to prevent them from sticking together in big clumps.
USE RIPE FROZEN ORANGE SLICES. OJ is good in smoothies, but you don't need it in your smoothie to make a great creamsicle flavor!
USE YOUR BLENDER TAMPER! Push frozen fruit chunks down towards the blades as your blender is running to get a smooth and creamy thick texture. If you don't have a tamper, turn your blender off every couple of minutes to push the frozen fruit down to the bottom of your blender.
