Easy blueberry smoothie with yogurt! I made a delicious blueberry smoothie recipe with just yogurt, frozen blueberries, hemp seeds and coconut water. This blueberry smoothie is made without banana and is still super sweet and delicious!

I love making healthy smoothies year round. Smoothies make the most perfect breakfast to drink on the go, or a healthy snack when you need to get more fruits & vegetables in your day.

What I love about this blueberry smoothie recipe is that it has everything you need: fiber, antioxidants, protein, healthy fats and it is super hydrating because of the coconut water!

    BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE WITH YOGURT INGREDIENTS

My easy blueberry smoothie recipe has just 4 simple ingredients:

    1. Frozen blueberries
    2. Whole milk yogurt
    3. Hemp seeds
    4. Coconut water

ARE BLUEBERRIES STILL GOOD FOR YOU IN A SMOOTHIE?

Absolutely! As a registered dietitian and expert in gut health, I frequently recommend people to drink smoothies, especially when they do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. Smoothies are an excellent way to easily eat more produce in a delicious way!

IS IT OKAY TO PUT YOGURT IN SMOOTHIES?

Yes absolutely! Yogurt is an excellent ingredient in healthy smoothies, especially if you are trying to lose weight. I recommend using whole milk yogurt so that you not only get protein, but healthy fats that help absorb the nutrients from yogurt.

HOW TO MAKE AN EASY BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE

My easy blueberry smoothie recipe is so delicious and it's a recipe you'll want over and over! If you want to make this blueberry smoothie with chia seed pudding, like in my original recipe, read on below for how to make a chia seed pudding bottomed smoothie.

STEP 1: ADD ALL INGREDIENTS TO YOUR BLENDER

    In you blender add:

    • 2 cups frozen blueberries
    • ½ cup whole milk yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
    • 1 ½ cups coconut water (unsweetened)

    STEP 2: BLEND UNTIL SMOOTH

Start your blender on low speed and gradually turn up the speed as it blends. Depending on your blender, you might have to turn it off and scrape down the sides a couple of times.

Keep blending your blueberry smoothie with the yogurt until you don't see any blueberry pieces left.

Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!

HOW TO MAKE A BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE WITH CHIA PUDDING

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you will remember that I used to make most of my smoothie recipes with chia pudding on the bottom. If you want an even more filling blueberry smoothie, make some chia seed pudding to go on the bottom!

In the bottom of your glass, whisk together:

    • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
    • ½ cup milk of choice

Whisk the chia seed pudding and let it rest for 5-10 minutes so it has time to thicken. Once your chia pudding is thick and a pudding like texture, make your smoothie and pile it on top! My original blueberry smoothie was made super thick with just ⅛ cup of coconut water and not the whole 1 ½ cups.

    FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about my blueberry smoothie recipe with yogurt.

Are blueberry smoothies good for you?

Yes! Blueberry smoothies are loaded with healthy ingredients that will help with your gut health, hormone balance, skin health, and weight loss.

How do I make a blueberry smoothie without yogurt?

Simply leave the yogurt out! Or, replace it with full fat coconut milk and blend it straight into your smoothie.

Why does my blueberry smoothie curdle?

If you are blending blueberries with dairy milk, the smoothie needs to be drank immediately. If you let it sit, it will start to curdle. It curdles because of a protein enzyme in the milk reacts with the berries and gives a curdled texture.

If you want to make a blueberry smoothie ahead without curdling, simply use a dairy free milk, like flax milk or almond milk.

Can I make this blueberry smoothie with almond milk?

Yes! Simply replace the coconut water for almond milk and blend until pureed.

This is the prettiest blueberry smoothie I’ve ever seen! I’m so excited that it doesn’t have any bananas as I’m not a big fan of them. Can’t wait to try it with the cauliflower
