Spinach Smoothie Recipe! My easy spinach smoothie recipe can be whipped up in no time for a healthy quick breakfast. This super sweet spinach smoothie tastes like pineapple and is made with two whole cups of spinach that you don't even taste!

It's spring time here in upstate New York and I am craving all the refreshing smoothie recipes! There is nothing better than a delicious green smoothie that tastes like fruit! Next time you feel like you haven't had enough fruits and vegetables in your day, make this green spinach smoothie.

Love making thick smoothies at home and want to learn how to make smoothie bowl recipes too? Make sure to read my full tutorial on How to Make Thick Smoothie Bowls every time!

    SPINACH SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS

    • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
    • 1 cup frozen pineapple
    • 1 cup frozen banana
    • Β½ cup whole milk yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon cashew or almond butter
    • 1 Β½ cup milk of choice or coconut water

    ARE SPINACH SMOOTHIES HEALTHY?

Yes! My healthy spinach smoothie has you covered for fruit, vegetable, healthy fats, and protein! Unlike a lot of green smoothies that have just fruit and milk, my healthy spinach smoothie recipe is packed with healthy fats that will keep you full for longer and improve your gut health.

My spinach smoothie is excellent for weight loss, gut health, and so much more!

    Drink a spinach smoothie for:

    • Weight Loss
    • Gut Health
    • Skin Health
    • Constipation
    • Lower Inflammation

IS IT OK TO PUT RAW SPINACH IN A SMOOTHIE?

Yes! You can definitely add raw spinach to smoothies. With a light delicate flavor and texture, spinach is the ideal leafy green to blend into smoothies. Use sweet fruits like pineapple, banana, and mango for a delicious flavor that pairs perfectly with raw spinach.

I know that buying fresh spinach at the grocery store spoils very quickly, so if you have to freeze it, it will be just as good in your spinach smoothie!

IS IT OK TO DRINK SPINACH SMOOTHIE EVERY DAY?

Yes! You can't go wrong with drinking this healthy spinach smoothie every day. In one smoothie, you get 2 servings of vegetables, 2 servings of fruits, along with a good amount of fiber, fat, and protein!

HOW TO MAKE AN EASY SPINACH SMOOTHIE IN 5 MINUTES

This is the easiest and most delicious smoothie you will ever make! My toddler and I love making smoothies together and this is a perfect green smoothie for toddlers if your little one is struggling to eat fruits & vegetables. Get them involved in helping you make it!

STEP 1: ADD INGREDIENTS TO BLENDER

In your blender, add all the ingredients for your spinach smoothie:

    • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
    • 1 cup frozen pineapple
    • 1 cup frozen banana
    • Β½ cup whole milk yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon cashew or almond butter
    • 1 Β½ cup milk of choice or coconut water
    spinach smoothie ingredients

STEP 2: KEEP BLENDING TILL YOU SEE NO SPINACH PIECES

Turn your blender on low and start pushing the fruit and spinach down towards your blades. If you don't have a blender tamper, simply turn off your blender a couple of times and stir your ingredient around.

Keep blending until your green spinach smoothie is a smooth green and you do not see any pieces of spinach. No one wants a piece of spinach stuck in their straw! See the picture below, it needs to keep blending longer.

    STEP 3: POUR AND ENJOY!

Once you have a smooth green spinach smoothie, pour into a large glass, or two smaller glasses and enjoy!

    FAQ's

What can I add to a spinach smoothie?

Add sweet fruits like pineapple, banana, sweet apples, baby spinach, full fat yogurt, nut butters, and milk or coconut water to your blender. You can really use a wide variety of ingredients with spinach because spinach has a very light flavor and most fruits will take over the flavor of spinach!

    Does blending spinach destroy nutrients?

No! Blended spinach greens are nutritionally comparable to their whole counterparts.

Is spinach less healthy when blended?

Blending up spinach into a smoothie is one of the healthiest way to eat it. You are eating raw whole spinach which means that none of the antioxidants or nutrients have been broken down by heat when cooking it.

There isn't any added sugar, for insulin calculation you can look at the carbohydrates (minus the fiber) hope this helps
