STEP 1: ADD INGREDIENTS TO BLENDER
In your blender, add all the ingredients for your spinach smoothie:
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach
- 1 cup frozen pineapple
- 1 cup frozen banana
- ½ cup whole milk yogurt
- 1 tablespoon cashew or almond butter
- 1 ½ cup milk of choice or coconut water
STEP 2: KEEP BLENDING TILL YOU SEE NO SPINACH PIECES
Turn your blender on low and start pushing the fruit and spinach down towards your blades. If you don't have a blender tamper, simply turn off your blender a couple of times and stir your ingredient around.
Keep blending until your green spinach smoothie is a smooth green and you do not see any pieces of spinach. No one wants a piece of spinach stuck in their straw! See the picture below, it needs to keep blending longer.
STEP 3: POUR AND ENJOY!
Once you have a smooth green spinach smoothie, pour into a large glass, or two smaller glasses and enjoy!

FAQ's
What can I add to a spinach smoothie?
Add sweet fruits like pineapple, banana, sweet apples, baby spinach, full fat yogurt, nut butters, and milk or coconut water to your blender. You can really use a wide variety of ingredients with spinach because spinach has a very light flavor and most fruits will take over the flavor of spinach!
Does blending spinach destroy nutrients?
No! Blended spinach greens are nutritionally comparable to their whole counterparts.
Is spinach less healthy when blended?
Blending up spinach into a smoothie is one of the healthiest way to eat it. You are eating raw whole spinach which means that none of the antioxidants or nutrients have been broken down by heat when cooking it.
