    CREAMY WATERMELON SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS

This summer fruit watermelon smoothie recipe is so easy to make and uses up all your fresh local summer ingredients! I highly recommend adding the spearmint. The spearmint in this watermelon smoothie recipe adds the perfect touch of minty flavor.

    • Frozen watermelon
    • Fresh ripe strawberries
    • Fresh spearmint
    • Coconut water & cream

IS FROZEN WATERMELON GOOD FOR SMOOTHIES?

Yes! My secret for a creamy watermelon smoothie that does not separate quickly is using frozen watermelon chunks! Frozen watermelon will keep your smoothie nice and cold for much longer which means slow summer sipping. 🙂

SKIN HEALTHY BENEFITS OF A WATERMELON SMOOTHIE

    • Coconut Water: Coconut water is a key ingredient in this refreshing smoothie. Packed with electrolytes and hydrating properties, coconut water helps to keep your skin moisturized and radiant. Its high vitamin C content also promotes collagen production, which contributes to skin elasticity and a youthful appearance.
    • Frozen Watermelon: The star ingredient of this frozen watermelon drink, watermelon is rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from sun damage and oxidative stress. Additionally, watermelon is hydrating, helping to keep your skin plump and nourished, while its vitamin A and vitamin C content supports healthy skin cell turnover.
    • Fresh Strawberries: Adding a burst of flavor and color to this quick and easy smoothie recipe, strawberries are packed with antioxidants and vitamin C, which play a vital role in maintaining healthy skin. Vitamin C aids in collagen synthesis, promoting skin elasticity, and the antioxidants help protect against free radicals that can contribute to premature aging.
    • Mint Leaves: Fresh spearmint adds a refreshing touch to this summer beverage idea. Mint leaves have natural antimicrobial properties, which can help keep your skin clear and blemish-free. Additionally, mint leaves are rich in antioxidants that can protect your skin from environmental damage and soothe inflammation.

Incorporating these nutrient-rich ingredients into your smoothie not only provides a delicious treat but also delivers a range of skin benefits. The hydrating properties of the watermelon and coconut water help maintain skin moisture levels, while the antioxidants and vitamins in strawberries and mint leaves protect against damage and promote a healthy complexion.

Answering Your Question: Can I Make a Watermelon Smoothie Without Yogurt?

Absolutely! This watermelon smoothie recipe is intentionally crafted to be yogurt-free, providing a delightful choice for those seeking a dairy-free or lighter alternative. By combining frozen watermelon, fresh strawberries, mint leaves, and hydrating coconut water, you can achieve a naturally creamy and satisfying texture without relying on yogurt. The frozen watermelon ensures a thick and slushy consistency, while the addition of coconut water imparts a subtle hint of sweetness. So go ahead and relish in the pleasure of a deliciously creamy watermelon smoothie, completely free from yogurt!

Furthermore, it's important to remember the inherent versatility of smoothies. Don't hesitate to unleash your creativity by experimenting with various ingredients, ratios, and flavors until you discover your ideal combination. Whether you decide to incorporate tropical fruits, concoct a medley of fresh seasonal fruits, or indulge in a velvety coconut water smoothie, these variations are guaranteed to elevate your watermelon smoothie experience, keeping you refreshingly cool throughout the summer season.

HOW TO MAKE A FROZEN WATERMELON SMOOTHIE WITH COCONUT MILK!

My frozen watermelon drink recipe is so easy to make and is sure to cool you off this summer! Let's get started!

STEP 1: CUT AND FREEZE WATERMELON

First, cut your watermelon into chunks. Add the chunks to a freezer safe bag and freeze the watermelon flat. Do not layer watermelon or they will stick together and make it harder to blend.

STEP 2: ADD ALL INGREDIENTS TO A BLENDER

Once the watermelon is frozen solid, add all ingredients to your blender:

    • 4 cups frozen watermelon
    • 1 cup fresh strawberries
    • 1 sprig mint leaves
    • 1 ½ cups coconut water
    • optional: a scoop of coconut cream

    STEP 3: BLEND AND SERVE!

Blend your watermelon smoothie ingredients until the mixture is totally pureed. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!

Hope you guys loved this one as much as I did! Leave me a comment below to let me know how it turned out or if you used any variations. 🙂

If you want to make an easy three ingredient watermelon slushie instead, this is the recipe for you!

Recipe Variations: Take Your Watermelon Smoothie to the Next Level!

    1. Tropical Watermelon Blend: For a taste of the tropics, try adding some pineapple or mango to your watermelon smoothie. These juicy and vibrant fruits will transport you to a sun-kissed beach with every sip. Simply replace a portion of the strawberries with your preferred tropical fruit, blend it all together, and enjoy a delicious summer smoothie that will transport your taste buds to paradise.
    2. Fresh Fruit Medley: Embrace the bountiful flavors of the season by incorporating a variety of fresh fruits into your watermelon smoothie. Experiment with berries like raspberries or blueberries, or add a handful of diced peaches or kiwi for a burst of tanginess. The possibilities are endless, so get creative and tailor your smoothie to suit your taste preferences and the availability of local, seasonal fruits.
    3. Creamy Coconut Water Smoothie: If you're a fan of creamy and tropical flavors, consider adding a scoop of coconut cream to your watermelon smoothie. This will lend a rich and velvety texture to your drink, complementing the sweetness of the watermelon and the bright flavors of the other ingredients. Blend it all together, and you'll have a luscious and indulgent creamy fruit smoothie that will make you feel like you're on a vacation in the tropics.

    FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about my healthy watermelon smoothie recipe.

Is this watermelon smoothie good for kids?

Yes! I've been making this watermelon smoothie for my 3 year old since she started eating finger foods! Smoothies are an excellent way to hydrate toddlers and kids and also get in fruits & veggies!

Is it OK to blend watermelon seeds?

I would definitely choose a seedless watermelon for this recipe. The seeds are not going to give you a super creamy texture and depending on your blender, might not totally blend down. But, watermelon seeds are safe to eat so if you are looking for even more fiber, totally blend them in!

What fruit mixes well with watermelon?

My watermelon smoothie recipe is made with strawberries and coconut, which I think pair perfectly with watermelon! I've also made watermelon smoothies with pineapple and mango too, which are super tropical and give your smoothie a very sweet flavor!

Can I make a watermelon smoothie with fresh watermelon?

Yes absolutely! Just keep in mind that it will not be as cold and creamy as the frozen watermelon version. You can add a couple of handfuls of ice cubes along with the fresh watermelon.
