Matcha Cold Foam Latte Recipe! My matcha cold foam latte is a layered drink of pink pitaya (pink drink) topped with a dairy free matcha cold foam. My cold foam matcha latte recipe is super easy to make and totally healthy for you!

I love making pretty iced pink drinks! Iced Matcha Latte's are one of my favorite drinks.. well other than coffee of course! Matcha cold foam is a super delicious non coffee Starbucks drink made of matcha cold foam piled on top of the iconic pink drink.

Want to learn how to make Starbucks and Dunkin recipes at home, but healthier? Make sure to read my Healthy Iced Caramel Macchiato Tutorial, featuring my homemade healthy date caramel recipe that can also be used in tons of my healthy dessert recipes!

WHAT IS STARBUCKS MATCHA CREAM COLD FOAM MADE OF?

Matcha cream cold foam is a spin off of Starbucks famous cream cold foam. Cold foam is a blend of sweet cream and milk with sugar. You can then add cold foam on top of any Starbucks menu drink. The matcha cream cold foam is the same texture and same main ingredients as the vanilla cold foam, except with matcha green tea powder added in.

So far, Starbucks has made flavors like vanilla cold foam, pistachio cold foam, chocolate cold foam, and even lavender cold foam. I'm sad to say the lavender one came and went too fast before I could try it out. All of these cold foam's can be ordered on top of a regular iced matcha latte or the pink drink!

HOW DO YOU MAKE MATCHA FOAM?

Starbucks matcha foam recipe is so easy to make! It might look fancy when they pass it through the window, and you might think it is so hard to make at home. But, it is actually incredibly easy! All you need to do is whip together heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy free), milk, sweetener, and matcha green tea powder!

ARE MATCHA LATTES BAD FOR YOU?

Ask me, the dietitian! Are matcha latte's bad for you? No! Matcha lattes are actually excellent for your health! Matcha green tea powder has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that support brain health.

A bonus of matcha is that you get the energy boost, without the jitters.

One side note of when matcha latte becomes unhealthy is when too much sweetener is added. So if you can't force down an unsweetened matcha latte (me either), stick with lightly sweetened, or opt for natural sweeteners like honey.

    HEALTHY BENEFITS OF MATCHA!

Matcha green tea is actually super healthy for you! It is packed with special nutrients that reduces inflammation all over your body. In your gut, it also works to reduce inflammation. When inflammation is reduced in our gut, we can digest food and absorb the nutrients from it even better!

TIPS ON MAKING THE BEST MATCHA COLD FOAM RECIPE

USE A SMALL HAND HELD BLENDER, LIKE A SMOOTHIE BLENDER TO MAKE THE PINK LAYER. Small blenders work really well for blending up powders with milk for iced lattes.

REFRIGERATE A CAN OF FULL FAT COCONUT MILK. If you are going with the dairy free matcha cold foam option, you'll need coconut cream in place of heavy cream. The easiest way to get coconut cream is by refrigerating a can of full fat coconut milk overnight. Scoop the hard portion off the top the next day, this is the coconut cream. Add about a tablespoon of coconut cream per half cup of milk to make a dairy free matcha cold foam.

USE A HAND HELD MILK FROTHER TO MAKE THE MATCHA COLD FOAM. Cold foam is really easy to make if you have a milk frother. You could also use hand held beaters if you don't have a milk frother.

MAKE MY STARBUCKS COPYCAT MATCHA COLD FOAM ON TOP OF THE PINK DRINK AT HOME!

This non coffee Starbucks drink recipe is SO easy to make and super refreshing. Plus it's loaded with anti-inflammatory benefits from the pink pitaya and matcha green tea powder. Let's get started by making the pink drink first.

Note- you can add matcha cold foam on top of your favorite iced coffee, iced latte, or any drink that you like! Today I'm showing you how to make a pink drink for the bottom!

    FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about my Starbucks matcha cold foam recipe.

WHAT IS A DIRTY MATCHA AT STARBUCKS?

The dirty matcha latte came and went but is still part of Starbucks secret menu. A dirty matcha latte is an iced matcha latte with two shots of espresso on top. The Dirty Matcha Latte is one of my all time favorite summer coffee drink recipes!

WHAT DOES PINK MATCHA TASTE LIKE?

Pink matcha tastes slightly earthy from the matcha and subtly sweet from the pink pitaya. It is a cold and refreshing drink!

    WHAT IS COCONUT CREAM?

The coconut cream I used is just the hard portion of the milk from a refrigerated can of full fat coconut milk.

WHAT KIND OF MILK SHOULD I USE?

You can use any kind of milk that you want! I used vanilla soy milk in my pink matcha latte, which makes it totally dairy free.

WHAT CAN I USE INSTEAD OF PINK PITAYA TO MAKE MILK PINK ?

You can also use beetroot powder to make naturally pink milk. You can also make my delicious Dragon Fruit Refresher recipe which tastes very similar to a pink drink!
