Raspberry Lemon Chia Water for constipation and gut health. My refreshing raspberry lemon chia seed water is a great chia seed drink! It is a super healthy drink made with chia seeds, raspberries, lemon juice, and raw honey.

I love meal prepping my raspberry lemon chia seed water every week and having them ready to go in the fridge! Chia water is an excellent drink for gut health, weight loss, and even lowering cholesterol!

Chia seed water is great for moms, kids, and even toddlers. My three year old has been drinking chia water for almost 2 years now!

My Raspberry Lemon Chia Seed Water Recipe is:

    • Easy to make
    • Gut healthy
    • Ease constipation
    • Good for weight loss
    • Helps balance hormones
    • Naturally gluten free

    CHIA SEED WATER INGREDIENTS

My simple raspberry lemon chia water recipe is made with 5 healthy ingredients:

    1. Red raspberries
    2. Raw honey
    3. Fresh lemon juice
    4. Chia seeds
    5. Filtered water

WHAT DOES LEMON AND CHIA SEED WATER DO?

Chia seed water is one of the best things you can drink for your gut health! Chia seeds and raspberries are packed with fiber and antioxidants that feed the good gut bacteria and also reduce inflammation. Lemon juice is also anti-inflammatory since it is high in vitamin C!

Make sure to use raw honey that has not been heated for the most gut healthy benefits of honey. If you use heated honey you will have destroyed the good gut healthy benefits of honey.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF RASPBERRY AND LEMON INFUSED WATER?

Raspberry and lemon add sweet and tartness to your chia seed water. It is naturally hydrating and so delicious with no refined sugar added. Raspberries and lemons both have vitamin C, which naturally help form collagen in your skin!

IS IT GOOD TO DRINK CHIA SEEDS IN WATER EVERY DAY?

Yes! Chia seeds are safe to drink every day. Just make sure to also eat other types of nuts and seeds since every food is different and gives your body different nutrients. Try flax seed, hemp seed, pumpkin seed, almonds, pecans, pine nuts, etc.

If you suffer constipation, you can drink 2 chia water per day until your constipation goes away then go back to 1 chia seed water per day.

    CHIA SEED WATER BENEFITS:

    • High in fiber
    • Feeds your good gut bacteria
    • Improves bowel movement (constipation)
    • High in antioxidants (helps lower inflammation)
    • Hydrating
    • Good for blood sugar control
    • Helps balance hormones

DO CHIA SEEDS AND LEMONS HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT?

Yes! Chia seeds and lemons can help you lose weight as part of a healthy well rounded diet. Chia seeds are super high in fiber, which will keep you full longer, balance hormones, and aid in your gut health. Having good gut health is key in having sustainable long term weight maintenance.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE BERST RASPBERRY LEMON CHIA WATER

USE FRUIT FOR MORE FLAVOR. Fruit like raspberries and lemons will make your chia water recipe taste amazing! If you don't have lemons, you can also use lime in your chia water and any other fruit that you have.

USE COOL FILTERED WATER. When you filter your water, you are getting pure water and not water with micro plastics and junk in it for your body to filter out. Use a water filter instead of using your body as a filter!

STIR WELL! Stir chia water multiple times, to make sure that no clumps of chia seeds stick to the bottom of the glass!

COVER YOUR JAR AND SHAKE YOUR CHIA WATER. This helps to break up any chunks and make sure the chia seeds gel evenly.

LET CHIA WATER REST TO GEL PROPERLY. I let my chia seed water soak in the fridge overnight for the most benefits and the best flavor.

HOW DO YOU MAKE CHIA SEED WATER?

MAKE MY RASPBERRY LEMON CHIA SEED WATER!

    INGREDIENTS YOU NEED (PER JAR)

    • 1 tablespoons chia seeds
    • 4-5 red raspberries
    • 1 teaspoon raw honey
    • Juice of ½ lemon
    • 1 ½ cups filtered water

    EQUIPMENT YOU NEED

    • Glass jar with a tight fitting lid

    YOUR SHOPPING LIST

    • Red raspberries (fresh or frozen)
    • Fresh lemons
    • Chia seeds
    • Raw honey (manuka honey has the most benefits)

STEP 1: MASH RASPBERRIES WITH LEMON AND HONEY

First step in making delicious chia water for your constipation or gut health is mashing the raspberries in the honey. This adds so much flavor to your chia water and tastes even better when you soak it overnight.

Grab as many jars as you want (I usually do about 5 at a time).. or you can make it in 1 big jar like I did when I took the photos for this chia water recipe.

    In each jar add:

    • 4-5 red raspberries
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • Juice of ½ lemon

Mash the raspberries into the honey and lemon until the raspberries are pureed.

STEP 2: ADD CHIA SEED AND WATER

Next, add the chia seeds and filtered water on top of the raspberry mixture:

    • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
    • 1 ½ cups cool filtered water

Stir the chia seeds into the water very well to combine completely.

Let your chia water rest for 1-2 minutes. Stir again, breaking up any clumps of chia seeds on the bottom of the jar. Repeat this step 1 more time to prevent lumpy chia seed water.

Cover your jar with a tight fitting lid.

    Shake to combine.

Let your chia seed water rest 10-15 minutes. Chia water is best soaked overnight for the most benefits.

    Enjoy!

    FAQ'S

Frequently asked questions about my raspberry lemon chia seed water recipe.

WHAT DO CHIA SEEDS TASTE LIKE?

Chia seeds are a very neutral tasting seed. They have the ability to take on the flavor of the food they are mixed in to!

HOW LONG TO SOAK CHIA SEEDS IN WATER?

For the best consistency, soak chia seeds at least 15-20 minutes. You can also soak them in the fridge overnight for the most gut healthy benefits.

The chia seed to water ratio is 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to 1 ½ cups of water. The chia pudding ratio is about 3 tablespoons chia seeds to 1 cup of water for a much thicker consistency.

CAN WE DRINK THE WATER IN WHICH CHIA SEEDS ARE SOAKED?

Yes! Drink the chia and all the water around it!

DOES CHIA SEED WATER MAKE YOU POOP?

Chia seeds are amazing for because they have both soluble and insoluble fiber, making them ideal for people with both constipation and diarrhea! If you have constipation problems, chia seeds can help you poop. And if you have loose poop, chia seeds can help absorb some of that excess liquid.

How interesting! I know how good chia seeds are for us but I've never tried to drink them, to be honest. I have used them in everything from granolas to jams but drinking them... that's a first. I love everything raspberry flavoured though so I am in. Thanks for sharing this, Rosemary!

Can the drink be put in the blender after fixing and seeds have been soaked? I don’t want to drink the seedy mix. I would rather mix and strain it. I guess you need the seeds for it to really be helpful. My mom needs something for gut health but has diverticulosis and seeds are bad.

Curious as to how many days in advance I can prepare jars of this beverage. Would love to make up 7 jars for the week. Thanks!

I usually do about 5 days, but I think the lemon juice and the honey will help it keep for longer than chia seed pudding so 7 days should be fine!
