    KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL INGREDIENTS

You only need 3 ingredients for my easy kombucha mocktail recipe!

    1. Blackberries. Packed with antioxidants and fiber and help lower inflammation all over your body! Try to choose organic blackberries when you can because conventional blackberries are sprayed with a lot of pesticides, which puts more work on your liver to process.
    2. Blueberries. Packed with antioxidants and fiber that feeds your good gut bacteria. I love using wild blueberries because they have even more antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits!
    3. Kombucha. Make sure to choose kombucha with no sugar added. A lot of kombucha companies add sugar after bottling to make it sweeter. But this is not healthy for your gut and defeats the purpose of drinking a gut healthy kombucha mocktail. Look for kombucha that uses fruit puree as a sweetener instead!

GUT HEALTHY BENEFITS OF A KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL

My kombucha mocktail with blackberries and blueberries is incredible for your gut health!

    • Probiotics from the kombucha add more good gut bacteria to your gut!
    • Antioxidants from the blueberries and blackberries help fight inflammation in the gut and all over the body.
    • Hydrating! Unlike cocktails that dehydrate your body and deplete B vitamins, kombucha mocktails hydrate you!
    • Fiber (Prebiotics) from the berries feed the good gut bacteria and help them thrive!
    • Organic Acids like acetic acid and glucuronic acid can help detox your body and support healthy digestion by promoting bile production and improving the breakdown of fats.
    • Enzymes from the kombucha fermentation process produces enzymes that help with the digestion of food, supporting the gut's ability to absorb nutrients effectively!
    • Anti-inflammatory compounds from the blueberries and blackberries, like polyphenols, help reduce gut inflammation, promoting a healthy digestive tract.
    • Gut Healthy Vitamins & Minerals like folate and vitamin C help support your digestion and also your immune function (most of your immunity is actually in your gut)!

BENEFITS OF DRINKING A KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL INSTEAD OF A COCKTAIL

When combined, these 3 kombucha mocktail ingredients can create a synergistic effect for better gut health ever day!

    • Balanced Gut Flora: The combination of kombucha’s probiotics and the fiber and antioxidants from the berries helps maintain a balanced and diverse gut microbiome, supporting overall digestive health.
    • Digestive Regularity: The fiber from the berries, alongside the gut-supportive properties of kombucha, can improve regularity and prevent issues like bloating and constipation.
    • Reduced Inflammation: The anti-inflammatory compounds in both the berries and kombucha may help reduce gut irritation and inflammation, promoting a calmer, healthier digestive tract.
    • Gut Immunity: The probiotics from kombucha and the antioxidants from the berries help support a healthy gut lining, improving immunity and protecting against harmful pathogens.

Overall, my kombucha mocktail recipe is not only refreshing but also an excellent choice for nurturing gut health!

HOW TO MAKE A BLACKBERRY KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL

It is SO easy to make my blackberry blueberry kombucha mocktail recipe! Just mash the berries, pour kombucha over top, and you have a refreshing and beautiful drink to enjoy!

    STEP 1: MASH THE BERRIES

First, divide the fresh blackberries and wild blueberries between 2 glasses. Mash the berries into the bottom of the glass with a cocktail muddler or a fork.

Next, add ice cubes on top of the mashed berries.

STEP 2: ADD KOMBUCHA AND ENJOY!

Pour any flavor of kombucha on top of the berries.

    Enjoy!

You can decorate and garnish your kombucha mocktails with more berries, or some edible flowers!

    VARIATIONS

GINGER KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL. Add in a teaspoon of fresh ginger along with your fruit and muddle it to the bottom of your glass. Pour the kombucha on top for a very digestive friendly mocktail!

GINGER LEMON KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL. For more of a sour taste, you can also add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice into each glass! Lemon is high in vitamin C, which can also help your immune system!

PINEAPPLE KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL. Pineapple can help with your digestion and is a delicious fruit to mix with kombucha. Instead of the berries, add about ½ cup fresh pineapple to each glass. Mash the pineapple with a muddler. Pour kombucha on top and enjoy!

CRANBERRY KOMBUCHA MOCKTAIL. If you like the sour taste of cranberries, use them in place of blueberries and blackberries. You can also use all 3 berries together. If you need a bit of balance, add about 1 teaspoon of honey along with your cranberries. Cranberries are incredible for female health, especially those who get frequent UTI's.

    FAQ'S

Frequently asked questions about my gut healthy kombucha mocktail recipe!

WHAT CAN YOU MIX WITH KOMBUCHA?

Mix any kind of mashed fruit and ice with kombucha for a refreshing alcohol free drink recipe! Kombucha is very versatile and tastes good with pretty much any fruit.

    IS KOMBUCHA A NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINK?

While most kombucha has less than 0.05% alcohol because of fermentation, it is still considered a non-alcoholic drink.

CAN YOU MIX SPARKLING WATER WITH KOMBUCHA?

Yes! If the flavor of kombucha is too strong for you, mix half kombucha and half sparkling water in your mocktail.

WHICH MOCKTAIL IS GOOD FOR HEALTH?

Mocktails are all usually good for health-- as long as there is no added sugars! Don't use mocktail recipes that use a lot of processed fruit juice (fresh squeezed is okay), refined sugar, or sugary sodas. Instead, look for mocktail recipes with no sugar added. And a bonus if there is gut healthy kombucha!
